Name: Absolon Zebardyn Mercator
Codename: Mr. M
Age: 21
Relationship Status: Single
Brief Description of Appearance: Standing at 6', Mr. M has certainly chosen an attractive form for when he's out in public. Why wouldn't he? With the power to change virtually anything, he's chosen what he believes is the most attractive exterior. His short brown hair is perfectly groomed with a single spit curl oft times hanging in front of one of his blue-gray eyes. While not gigantically muscular, he maintains a rather athletic frame, with a perfect six pack carved into his abdomen. His style of clothing usually remains constant, with a simple white t-shirt or a novelty shirt with an insignia or writing on the front. A dress shirt is worn unbuttoned over it, with a pair of some sort of cargo pants and sneakers.
His uniformed appearance, if you'll call it that, is much of the same. Often he'll wear a sleeveless white undershirt along with a pair of black cargo pants. Sometimes he'll wear suspenders, if he feels the whim to. To top it off, he wears his trademark fedora atop his head. The fedora often changes color depending on his emotion.
Mutant Powers: Mister M possesses the psionic ability to rearrange molecules, or molecukinesis. He is able to mentally alter any form of matter or energy, so long as it has molecules, with is pretty much anything. Thus far, M has displayed: repair of machinery, intangibility, energy manipulation, lightning, fire, and explosive energy generation, healing injuries either in himself or others, removal or augmentation of mutant abilities, creation of force fields, and creation and evolution of lesser life forms. These powers have classified him as a Omega-level mutant.
History: Bathgate, Scotland was your typical industrial town. Much of the economy of the small West Lothian town was based on the factories and various industrial businesses in and around the area. Nearly 75 percent of the citizens in Bathgate were blue-collar workers employed by these businesses. The other 25 percent were employed elsewhere, or were white-collar workers.
Dennis Mercator was in the 25 percentile. He was in a high position at a construction company, which put his family in an upper middle class position. His wife Nanette was able to stay at home and look after the boys, Absolon and Mitty.
All good things must come to an end. When Absolon was 10, his father lost his cushy job due to fraud. As a result, Dennis was forced to work in a small automobile repair shop to help his family survive. Both himself and Nanette fell into a deep depression, which was only solved by a variety of addictions, including alcoholism and illegal substances.
Some believe that it was the stress of the situation that awakened young Absolon's abilities at such an early age. Others believe it was because of his oddly configured brain. Whatever the case, at age 11, he showed his first signs of mutation. When himself and a friend were playing near a river, his friend tripped and busted his head open on a rock. In panic, Absolon attempted to help him, and his very touch healed his friend's head and saved his life.
The boy was hailed as the miracle of Bathgate. The media and greater population never became aware of his existence, but the townsfolk of Bathgate were well aware of their special boy. Whenever somebody was suffering, be it from a broken hand or a minor cold, Absolon could fix them right up. Some saw him as the Second Coming while others believed he was Satan himself.
Boyd MacBeason was one of the latter. When Absolon was nearing the end of middle school, he had an encounter with Boyd, the exact details of which remain shrouded in mystery to this day. Words were said and fists were thrown. It was at this time that Absolon revealed that healing wasn't his only power. Boyd's body was inversed, with his muscular tissue on the outside and his skin inside. For three days, he lived like this in agonizing pain.
Suddenly, the miracle of Bathgate was the monster of Bathgate. A lynch mob formed and went after the Mercators. Fourteen-year-old Absolon ran, ran, ran, his legs taking him as far as he could go. He could never return to his town, that much he knew. He just hoped his family was alright.
Three months later, Absolon was hiding out in London. While working as a dish boy at a pub, he was approached by a professor named Charles Xavier. He explained that he ran a special school for gifted children such as himself, and that he knew what had happened in Bathgate. Charles offered him a place at the school, free of charge. Despite it being America, Absolon knew that he would be able to have a comfortable bed and warm food, and as such, he agreed to the professor's decision.
However, Abe never attended the institute, nor did he have any contact with the students. With Abe's powers, Charles felt that he could put him to better use as one of his few covert operatives. Charlies paid for everything - his apartment, food, so on and so forth, while Abe carried out his orders. Only now is he beginning to have contact with the X-Men.

He had never really been a fan of New York. Abe didn't like the whole structure of the city. What genius decided to make a city out of five islands? Mind you, this was at a time when bridges didn't exist or anything of the sort. That meant everybody had to travel by boat to get where they needed to go. Or swim. Perhaps Abe just didn't like cities in general. He had been raised in a small town, after all.
But now he was rambling in his mind. He had to stay focused on the task at hand, and right now, that task was his "appointment." Today, that task involved something very personal to him. Absolon had never spoken of his life or where he came from with any of his companions, including Kelly, and he never planned to, which is why he didn't bring her with him.
Now, the Secretary of Mutant Affairs stared into a pair of eyes that were framed by glasses - horn rimmed ones, to be precise.
"She's safe." The words moved from his lips with confidence. The two men stood atop a random apartment building in Queens. Whenever the two men met, it was always in New York and it was always on top of an apartment building Queens. There was really no reason why. Perhaps because there were many apartment buildings in Queens, which meant that they couldn't be followed.
"You know that you don't have to do this. Just be--"
"I do have to do this, sir." Seeing Abe say "sir" would probably have given Kelly a heart attack. He was against authority and anything relating to it. But this man, this was the only man he would call sir. "If it wasn't for you, I'd be dead. Or worse, a some sort of drone. No offense."
A smile came to the elder man's lips. "Then I thank you, Abe. I was just doing what I thought was right."
"As I'm doing what I think is right." Artemis smiled and then wrapped his arms around the other man, just as the man did in return. After a few moments, their embrace was cut off. "If I find anything new, I'll be sure to contact you. Always watching the sky, Mr. Mason."
And just like that, Abe was gone, leaving the adoptive father of Martha Mason upon the rooftop.
A moment later, the mysterious mutant was standing directly next to Kelly. In his hand was a large ice cream cone with soft serve vanilla ice cream standing up out of it. In his other hand was a similar cone, this one with chocolate, which he now presented to his companion.
"The only good thing about New York, my dear. Monticello's Ice Cream."
As OOC as you can be
Abe was a hit with the kids. Why? Because he could make it rain CANDY! Ororo might be mad with the molecule manipulator, as he altered the clouds above them so that they turned a bright pink. Skiddles fell from the sky, along with Reese's Pieces, Sweet Tarts, and many more favorites. Abe himself hovered above the institute, catching some of these sweets in his mouth.
